Elixir of Life
Drenched in sweat
In the scorching heat
A traveller walks by
Not a soul in sight
It’s a lonely ride
In search of the elixir of life.
He had heard tales
Of its wonder
Mysterious, yet divine
He travelled miles
In hopes of finding
The magical elixir of life.
Wise men said
A single drop
Could make you come alive
Night and day
He searched far and wide
In search of the elixir of life.
Days went by
He lost all hope
Not a single treasure could he find
When suddenly
To quench his thirst
Upon an oasis he laid his eyes.
Tired and parched
He stopped for a drink
And at that moment he realised
All this time
He was searching for drops of gold
But water was the elixir of life.
